8. Can't Hold Me Down (ft. Tash Neal of The London Souls)

Can't Hold Me Down (ft. Tash Neal of The London Souls)

Pre-Order my new album, Good Will Prevail: iTunes - http://geni.us/GWPitunes Politics, the news, senseless deaths... got me feelin' pretty helpless recently. I wrote Can't Hold Me Down as a piece of motivation for those who are feelin' down and struggling in their lives. I saw a live performance video of Tash Neal (from The London Souls) playing and knew instantly we had to work together. I wrote the demo and sent it his way. What I got back was magic. Tash is perfect on this tune. Don't curse the darkness, be a light. Be the force that pushes others to keep their heads high and stay inspired. Stand up for what you believe in at all costs. Never give up on people. iTunes - http://geni.us/CHMDitunes Spotify - http://geni.us/CHMDspotify Google Play - http://geni.us/CHMDgoogleplay Deezer - http://geni.us/CHMDdeezer GRiZ's Website: Homepage: www.mynameisgriz.com/ Tour Dates: www.mynameisgriz.com/tour Music: www.mynameisgriz.com/music Connect with GRiZ ... 12. David Starkey at the London Book Fair 2011 (BookD Podcast)

David Starkey at the London Book Fair 2011 (BookD Podcast)

David Starkey, one of the world's leading television historians and authors talks to BookD minutes before his introductory launch and talk about his app 'Kings and Queens' which was given on the final day at this year's London Book Fair. David discusses the idea of modern technology and how innovative thinking in publishing changes the role of the author entirely especially when regarding his particular writing ethic. In his own words when describing this app "it actually shows in a very clear way, the chronology of history in a very simple timeline". Students who haven't studied history chronologically will love this, as will the passionate folk for such a vast subject as it contextualises what you want to know. It marks a new era for historical detail which isn't in the shape of a book for the shelf, a folder full of notes or a drab lecture series given by stiffs in tweed.

20. Reading the globe at the London book fair – books podcast

Reading the globe at the London book fair – books podcast

In this week’s podcast we go on the trail of some of the smallest and newest presses at the London book fair, who are bringing the world to the UK. Publishers Bibi Bakare-Yusuf and Emma Shercliff explain why they believe it’s the right time to set up a British branch of their Nigerian company Cassava Republic Press and we meet Elnathan John, one of the authors making the journey with them. His first novel – Born on a Tuesday – offers a rare glimpse into the world of young Muslims from Nigeria’s Northern Region, who leave their homes and families in search of an Islamic education. We also hear from Pushkin Press’s Laura Macaulay, who makes the case for keeping faith with literature in translation, and Darf Publishing founder Ghassan Fergiani, who explains his mission to bring Arab writers to Europe, while translator Alice Guthrie talks about the challenges and rewards of Arabic literature. Reading list Born on a Tuesday by Elnathan John (Cassava Republic Press) Chewing Gum by Mansour Bushnaf (Darf Publishing)
