7. 30: The Fear of Being Alone: How to Get Over It!

30: The Fear of Being Alone: How to Get Over It!

There is a difference between being alone and feeling the pain of loneliness. We do not have to suffer from the pain of loneliness if we are enjoying a connected relationship with our self and a higher power. We are never really alone, and the illusion of the separation of God, higher power source or universe, is one of the core misunderstandings we are all here to overcome. If we tell ourselves things like “I’m alone, I hate being by myself, something must be wrong with me, I really need to be with other people”, then, of course we feel the pain of loneliness. It’s very human to want to be connected and to make sure we are getting our soul food by spending time with people we love. Feeling isolated or disconnected is incredibly hard. But sometimes it is the pain of loneliness that inspires us to do the work to nurture a better relationship with our self, or to create or deepen a spiritual connection.    This is exactly what is on the soul agenda for today’s caller, Christina. Her question initially is about the assumptions she’s making that are sabotaging her relationship, but her core issue is fear of being alone. She has a track record of being in toxic relationships or relationships she truly doesn’t want to be in just because it was better than being on her own. Remember you are never truly alone. You are always connected to infinite and unconditional love from God. I invite all of you to join me September 16-22 for my retreat in magical Bali which  will include meditation, yoga, one-on-one coaching and the opportunity to meet soul friends. E-mail [email protected] for information on how to join the festivities or to join me in Los Angeles in July for my signature retreat.   Consider/Ask Yourself: ● Is your fear of being alone so considerable that you jump from relationship to relationship? ● Do you hesitate to do things alone? ● Are you terrified you will end up old and alone? ● Do you only feel safe when you are with another person? ● Are you longing for a deeper connection to yourself and a higher power so you do not have to experience the pain of loneliness or separation?   Christina’s Question: Christina feels she is sabotaging her relationship by assuming this partner will do the same things as her previous partner.   Christina’s Key Insights and Aha’s: ● She panics when she thinks of being alone ● She is trying to learn how to be in a relationship with herself ● She grew up with a fear of losing the people she loved ● She settles in relationships to keep herself from being alone   How to get over it and on with it: ● Redefine what being alone is ● Create a feeling of safety without having someone else there ● Have honest communication with her partner about taking a break ● Bring a spiritual practice into her life ● Apply her own calming tactics into her own life   Tools and Takeaways: ● Understand your default pattern when you feel lonely. What can you tell yourself instead of going into your default pattern?  ● Think of someone you speak highly of and then talk about yourself the same way. You deserve to be the recipient of loving, self-talk. ● Cultivate a spiritual practice. ● Make connections with soul friends and your soul family.   Sponsor: Onnit Wellness - Receive a 10% discount on your purchase when you order through this link (including my favorite Alpha Brain).   Resources: Christine Hassler Expectation Hangover @christinhassler on Twitter @christinehassler on Instagram [email protected] [email protected]

Da Flow: Produced by MPadrums [Lyrics in Description]

Greetings, it has been quite sometime.. Music hasn't been flowing in the same way.. but as is the way of the universe, energy is always moving, transferring. A new job, other artistic outlets, and study keeps me occupied completely.(and games and shit too). I very much appreciate all the new follows and support that comes fourth each day. While I toil in mundane affairs at the day job It genuinely surprises me that people still continue to show love, and follow. I don't know where you come from, do tell me. I am very interested to know. I wanted to share a project that was long in the works, but still released some time ago. Teaming up with @https://soundcloud.com/mpadrums The track is part of a larger work, a international collaborative effort. Limited press 12 inch viny, this track is entitled 'Da flow' and I'm the only English speaking MC on the piece. Myself on the vocals recorded in the bedroom, Mpadrums did virutally everything else. I suppose if one were to infer, the notion behind the song is about martial things in aspect. Improvement, combat, skill & strategy. 11. Live For The Moment

Live For The Moment

Why did I want myself to have all of the answers? And the meanings behind everything I see To the point that I got sick I was enslaved Today I do not care about the consequences I just feel like I can figure how to deal With the dizziness I feel Release control And it seems that it’s time to use all of my senses To experience the world, take a little chance Getting out of my own mind Into new eyes ‘cause every little thing that you live And every small thing that you keep Will guide through heaven and hell What’s gone is there to remind Live for the moment, you’re living it right Don’t turn your life into an infinite strive Look at the world, at the beauty you find every day Enjoy the ride Little well, why did you keep me in the dark for ages? Maybe it’s time for me to get out of the hole To jump high enough to climb Over these walls Little boy, you’re a grown up now, where is your bravery? Did you learn that is better not to be alone? But to be one with the world Forget yourself ‘cause every little thing that you live And every small thing that you keep Will guide through heaven and hell What’s gone is there to remind Live for the moment, you’re living it right Don’t turn your life into an infinite strive Look at the world, at the beauty you find every day Enjoy the ride

#suspendedanimation [Op. 36 & 4 : and yet not] - Get Up, Pierrot ( disquiet0335 : Alone Time )

#suspendedanimation or Hold Up, Pierrot [Op. 36 & 4 : and yet not)] (Disquiet Junto Project 0335: Alone Time) - Get Up, Pierrot Pierrot is quite the discordian and he's decided we're going to do some of these Disquiet Junto projects and this is one we are quite familiar with... waiting. This track is a remix of an ATM waiting soundtrack. The keys were meant to invoke this feeling of disappointment at the transactions being made, and is made intense by a rumbling of the machines incessant processing, and never arriving to a conclusion; only more questions (WE ALREADY KNOW THE ANSWER IS 42 JUST GIVE ME MY DAMN BUTTERFLIES BACK!) Pierrot, like Eno, knew that he couldn't change the thing so he changed the world around it. However the Moog had other ideas, as did the filters, his credit card AND the customer service reps of aforementioned credit card (oh boy, did they have plans.) So Pierrot, being a mime, had no choice but to retaliate with the vocoder, and the infinite patience he had learned while practicing #transcendentalmeditation in the back room of The Limelight. Jump to the pg. 42 (or the bottom section) for more info Disquiet Junto projects. Turn to the next paragraph for information about "Get Up, Pierrot." Hi, How Are You? ***Welcome to "Get Up, Pierrot"*** This is a "choose your own adventure" style animated series on Instagram @GetUpPierrot www.instagram.com/getuppierrot/ Viewer participation is through IG polls. Simply watch the IG story, vote on the poll, and wait for the next animation to see the outcome. Major thanks to Matt Pinto for having proposed this Junto project prompt. Step 1: Hold music is a ubiquitous fact of modern life. Step 2: Record a short piece of hold music that satisfies the scenario you pondered in Step 1. 14. EPE0029 : Sevenski - Take a Breath (Extended Version)

EPE0029 : Sevenski - Take a Breath (Extended Version)

If you've ever been taken from the quiet countryside of Hampshire to the centre of London for the first time with all the buzz and hustle then you'll understand how it felt when UK born Sevenski of Russian ancestory first got exposed to the City's food, flirting, arts, night life and above all, in Sevevski's case...music! Like the first taste of honey moving from the quite countryside playing guitar at the age of 11 to getting full exposure to the vibe and energy in London's biggest clubs and bars left nothing less than a major impression on Sevenski as a 17 year old student. Spending more time creating music than studying is not such a good idea but it lays the foundations for musical creativity with so much time on his hands gigging was a natural next stage form guitars to basses then keyboards. There were more instruments, amplifiers and mixing desks in the student digs of Sevenski than any books...! A genuine dedication to getting the party going at every occasion Sevenski and his musical friends were always the first to get their hands on the decks and their instruments and jump on stage. Great music from all genres were a major early influence especially a passion for strong melodies.....movie sound tracks, techno, house trance, electro....everything ! At a studio recording session with his then student band Sevenski was lured by the prospect of purely electronic music with its huge range of sounds and with its infinite possibilities. In no time at all, spending every penny he earned on musical equipment and gear, developing an obsession with virus synths and computer DAW and setting up his studio....it was a natural progression. Swiftly there followed early releases on white label, bootlegs then eventually deals with record labels like Loaded.... Collaboration with great producers from labels like Positiva brought extra dimensions to Sevenski's work when he co-produced tracks on several projects......Interacting and recording with live vocalists and writing songs added further to the experience fun and creativity to his musical development over the last few years.... “A great vocal and top line often inspires a great tune and the expression and feeling being more vital than vocal perfection” according to Sevenski.. .... “it's all about saying something that jumps out to listeners and gets them to experience something powerfully emotional like a great film” .....That's the driving force in his music ! His influences range from Axwell, Alesso, Ingrosso, Hardwell, Arty, deadmau5, Above and Beyond,.....and many more across a wide range of EDM but also influences from some great songs from other genres too. With his tracks supported by some top DJ’s like the Flash Brothers and gaining international and regional radio play along with great reactions from London’s biggest Clubs. DJ’s...Sevenski is driven to boost his creative energies to an even higher level and bring the Sevenski style of melodically driven progressive house to a wider audience. Dedicating more precious time to studio work with a clear focus on developing a passion-driven strong identity Sevenski strives to deliver an exhilarating and distinctive sound with firm dedication to producing ever more innovative, energetic, progressive and electro house with gripping emotional melodies endeavouring to captivate the wider dance music community........ Now in 2014/15 stepping up to the challenge even further stay tuned for more passionate heart pounding progressive house music from Sevesnki..... Delivered by Label Worx on behalf of Elliptic Records

Lyrics: Slowly slip into this intricate universe, You stoppin at the sky, but why?, my limit is Jupiter, Operation Outer Space, I'm in a hazy place, Upon first sight, my heart, it starts to raise the pace, Amazing grace as I exhale perfection, The competition is the shit, the shit that gets stepped in, I been destined to step in this direction, And never fall in a life the rest of them was left in, I'm gettin lifted, losin sight of the ground, And you can come along wit me if you like how it sounds, Underneath the weed clouds, above the metaphors, Burnin down the trees and forgettin what I said before, A new path for the youth is now open, At the crossroads, most frozen in this moment, Before they know it, they forced to make a motion, And most times not in the direction they was hopin, But fuck both them, I jump into the ocean, I make my own path instead of takin one thats woven, I may be soakin wet, but never soulless, You lookin dried up, writin so-so shit, And now I'm back on my high horse, these eye sores, And ear sores try to keep me starvin, got a five-course, I'm full of shit but still hungry as hell, I'm loadin tapes full of hits to get a couple to sell, Its the lyrical dope pusher, the instrumental butcher, Chop the beef wit those that sold they souls, rap game hookers, The pimps producin this garbage at alarmin rates, So called "chart-toppers" claimin they Thick but Robbin Marvin Gaye, These faux artists make the fakest of sounds, If you support the local art you should be takin a bow, The industry is fucked but y'all just rapin it now, Y'all plastic style permanent but me, I'm changin my crowds, They label me a stoner cuz I'm facin the loud, And you claim to cook dope but it sure take you a while, Life is just a freestyle, I'm playin around, But spittin fire so potent think it came from the ground, You pussy rappers gettin ready to blow, pull out ya lipstick, Life is a bitch, but these niggas misogynistic, And I'm the misfit that's spittin out these fitted flows, Battle me, I'll snap back wit somethin original, Up in the clouds and I aint comin down for 9 days, Do this for my fans, so they commentate for my sake, I swear to god, y'all the forces that's supportin me, Well, you and the hydro, grab my phone to order weed, Before I scribble part of this infinite scripture, I gotta burn the loud, pardon the piff in the Swisher, The spittin so free so pardon me if I hit ya, Wit thrax bars and shards of the beats that get ripped up,

16. Nodes, links and patterns in a new definition of smart

Nodes, links and patterns in a new definition of smart

I think I have discovered a whole new way to classify what intelligence is, and how it works, and what it means to be smart. I have defined a basic image or picture with which we can think about this. Think of a bunch of small circles, and between them there is a kind of maze, so that you can't get from some to others, but you can get to others. Some circles can't be linked, others can, some are very difficult to link. The purpose is to start at some circle and to get to a different circle. In my opinion, the definition of smart is being able to find your way from a starting place to an effective end place. This is a fundamental life skill, evaluating the situation and finding a path through the circles to the solution. There are those who think in terms of circles, of nodes. "I've got this thing. I want to get to that thing." There are those who think in terms of the links. "How do I get from here to here?" They're focussed more on the flow of information across the pattern rather than specific nodes in the pattern. And there are a very few who think in terms of patterns. "Given that information flows this way generally, then we have a pattern." And these people tend to be the most brilliant, the ones who work at the level of patterns. The majority of people are node thinkers. To move from one node to another, you've got to follow a link. Every link is a risk, because if you go down this link and there's no solution, you've wasted time and energy to get there and you've got to go back up, plus getting down the new link may lead you in a new direction, and you may get totally lost. So on the links between the nodes, there will be a cost. And the nodes you go down frequently will have a much lower cost. They're very familiar. You know it's safe to go there and come back. And the links you rarely go down will have a higher cost. And the links you've never been down have perceived infinite cost - effectively, you haven't made the link yet, that this is related to that. People don't teach you the links. They don't even teach you the links exist or teach you how to work with them, which is why most people are node thinkers. Logic is a way that many people move between nodes. And given the way that education systems are developed, logical nodal thinkers tend to be the ones that are rated intelligent. They can quickly use logic to jump from node to node, and when asked to show their work, they can say "here are the steps that followed." But if you stored the information emotionally, then emotion is a way to traverse these nodes. If you use emotional weighting to decide which node to follow to get to the next node, then you're likely to be very good at social skills. There are also intuitive thinkers. The great thinkers all have methods of tapping into intuitive thinking that allows them to make a leap they wouldn't have made otherwise, or to traverse a link that they'd forgotten. What I've done is define a couple of axes of information here. One is the way that you perceive stored information, whether it's nodes, or links, or patterns. The other is the type of links that you make between the nodes, say logical, or emotional, or intuitive. Both Clan and LPA affect the way that information is stored. Clan tends to affect the way you navigate through the circles. LPA has a greater effect on where the circles are, what the links are and what the weighting is between the links. A tactical thinker is someone who has a small area of nodes, and a rich familiarity with those nodes. A strategic thinker is someone who has pieces of information, nodes, over a large number of things. The difference is: the tactical thinker tends to be more insecure. We could give people the ability to encode things in a certain way, to recall them in a certain way, and to traverse through what they've encoded more effectively, so that the brain becomes a tool they can use. This is a field of great potential that is ripe for development. Angel, 2015-07-26

17. Circus

Circus

I wake up every morning to the sight of a massive hourglass on a shelf over my bed. I watch the sands sift through the neck grain by grain counting down breaths and heartbeats and opportunities to create. Then I drag myself out of bed to start the circus. When I was young, I was told to follow my dreams. That I could do anything I set my mind to, but I never did get the hang of being Batman because my parents stubbornly refused to die and most of the family money was tied up in property- specifically the one we lived on. What they mean when they say “Follow your dreams” is “Follow your dreams if your dreams are realistic.” Even then, realistic is another layer of doublespeak whose translation lands somewhere between the rock of profitable and the hard place called exploitable. Because how many cowboys and princesses could the world actually use? How soon do we tell the next generation the truth? That they can be whatever they want to be so long as there is mitigated risk and a market for growth and a long enough ramp to get you to the next round of funding and opportunities to go public and diversified revenue streams because the shareholders expect at least a five percent return at the end of the quarter. When do we tell them they are teeth in a mouth that is in a constant state of chewing and swallowing and shitting and so long as the entire mouth is in working order each individual tooth is more or less expendable? When do we tell them they are blades in a combine machine reaping, reaping, reaping through a field of projected infinite growth, because growth is apparently the only thing in the universe that isn't bound by the laws of matter and energy. Because no matter how many forests we chop down or how much plastic we drop in the ocean, there will always be room for unchecked growth. And when every inch of this planet is burning neon bright with Golden Arches and blinking Nike swooshes, we'll blast off into motherfucking space and look back at that glowing disco ball behind us and wonder why the blue planet doesn't look so blue anymore. When are we going to tell they next generation that they are to be guided by empty stomach and throbbing gonad, that they are to drown out the voices in the heads and hearts wondering aloud if this is truly the best way to live? When do we perform that about-face reversing the mantra we've repeated like an actress trying to get her lines just right- “Money isn't everything” I guess it's technically not a lie when money isn't everything- because what are you going to do with liquid money anyways? You need to diversify with property and bonds and a healthy portfolio of companies in strong industries. These are the important things in life, things they should teach in high school. Why should I bother with math when I carry a calculator in my pocket? And don't get me started on the arts. I mean, what's the point? All art really is is a bunch of weirdos with green hair staring at a shit-smeared wall nodding pensively- as if it means something. Because what good has art done for me today? I can't eat those cherry reds and lemon yellows splattered across the canvas. And I sure as hell can't fuck those beautiful marble goddess with their perfect limbs stretched out in beckoning, so what's the point? Why do you want me to think? Thinking isn't growth and there's damn sure no money in it. We need to jump start the next generation on The Way It Is™ because otherwise they will dream and imagine and create and have their hearts broken over and over again until one day they're laying in bed staring up at an hourglass counting down breaths and heartbeats and opportunities to create and they'll heave a heavy sigh before getting up and starting the circus.

(Free) Chapter 8 Drugs are Triggers I have to write about what has been such an important part of my musical endeavors. To talk about drugs and alcohol, or even other addictions like gambling, eating, obsessive thinking, sexual obsessions is to understand what is really happening. I am a Recovering Crack Cocaine Addict. I’ve experienced the most extreme and bizarre emotions of paranoia any Spiritual Being would want to take. My FEAR meter was batting .1000. I mean Cops were hiding in toilets. Somebody is going to jump me, accost me physically and yes I actually believed these experiences were happening at that time. What a relief to have that over with. Whenever I took a hit of crack, I instantly heard high pitched ringing in my ears, sometimes my legs shook and I fell to the floor, slowly regaining consciousness. And the lights, there were alien spaceships in miniature sizes occupying deep space somewhere in my messy bedroom. The Walls were pure energy, flowing in an expressive pattern of predesigned geometry. These triggers have been used for thousands of years, even tens of thousands by civilizations as a method to melt with your Higher Self, Soul, and Dream state. They are the keys to maintaining an evolution of immense sensations. Drugs when used in a balanced way can lead the student on his path to Knowledge. Carlos Castaneda experimented with Peyote and other such plants that trigger the codes in all 9 of your major charkas, making you able to consciously experience your connect to the God that you are. If you use these substances in an unbalanced fashion. only you can realize there is a problem here Like monitoring the amount you ingest or smoke. That’s all you’ll hear about me on passing judgment with this topic. Improper use of drugs/alcohol/other addictions are not a good thing and therefore avoided if at all possible. It takes an experienced drug abuser to express impeccability when conquering this venture in your friends and family’s lives. Marijuana will soon be legal as it is a powerful herb with some very healing qualities in it. Your good friend who is suffering with Cancer will speak boldly in its favor because weed carries with it a calming, peaceful feeling that you can actually feel in all your power centers, or chakra’s. It works wonderfully reducing Nausea stemming from Chemo-Therapy treatments. And yes,now there is one child prodigy who manifests abilities to feel people out and by visualizing them sending powerful Geometric angles, squares, circles, rectangles, anyway, you get the picture. That is quite some healing methodology. In guiding Energy of Light and Love, today’s child psychic does this everyday and during special moments. Children are special because of the innocence of their nature. They naturally feel that everything is ok, because we are empowering them so much too just be themselves.. Children express gifted spiritual children are in closer connection to the Soul of their being, the immortal and infinite Soul. That is who or what we are. The Soul is all powerful and all knowing. Our essences are spread all through the atmosphere of O2, CO2 and Nitrogen; these are vibrations that we breathe. Every thing has a vibration frequency. Our light essences get heavy as they eventually all will fall off of the Soul. It’s not as imperative as it is for us to prepare. The more the Soul releases it’s frequency it impacts all of us to be faced with certain challenges in each person’s environment. Your future is stored in a vastly given implosion which (the future) was first assigned as your destiny and we live our God given days living in “free will” world making choices that also guide and alter the outcome. Be also aware that the drugs don’t produce whatever “high” you are trying to get. Remember that the drugs are merely triggers that release codes for the body to release hormones found near the base of the brain. Also in the lymphatic system we have a Pineal Gland located in the Crown Chakra at the top of the brain. This gland will become activated mentally and it provides the 3rd Eye Chakra with abilities to relate to future events with a forewarning provided by the gift of Intuition. This system, once activated will rearrange your mixed up DNA structure. Some humans have developed 3rd and 4th strand DNA completion. Each of 12 possible outcomes relates to the main 12 Chakra centers. It is how we connect with the other Dimensions. These codes in turn, affect your body by having it release its own chemical to affect the “high”. Some will say that you can produce your own natural high through prayer, meditation, sweat lodge, visualization techniques etc. This would produce a cleaner “high”. That’s Drug Lingo…..for better withdrawal symptoms as it is less intrusive on a persons chemical makeup for equilibrium. In the song “Free” there are at one point three different melody lead vocals happening together. The melodies are chants that add to the whole collectiveness of the song. This song when played without any distraction and will transmute any energy to one that attracts LOVE. 4th Dimensional beings, ghosts, disembodied Spirits, entities from other dimensions are what you see, hear and feel when you are vibrating in concert to their frequency. Just like a radio has to be set to a station by dialing in the correct frequency, i.e. 103.1 FM. Addicts use the drug to alter their consciousness so they might “tune” in these entities. That’s why it’s so hard for late stage addicts to get off of this madness. Not only are they getting high, but so are the 4th Dimensional beings. They like the “high” too and that’s why their Astral (Light Body) still hangs out with other using druggies from the real world who get paranoid. These archetypal disembodied types have manipulated our entire species since day Eve ate the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden and “sin” was born. From day one women were looked down on and treated with “NO RESPECT”. Ladies, you’ve come a long way throughout our history and you’re finally getting the rights and freedoms, guaranteed by the US Constitution. Just ahead is a copy of a comment sent to a friend of mine on Face Book regarding her stand on standing up for Medical Marijuana as a beacon of light for lives to follow. Weed mellows you out. It rises one to higher aspirations and the joy of creating something of value that helps for people than destroys. I personally use it to calm my cravings for Crack Cocaine. Balance is the key here. It’s easy to overdo the pot smoking sometimes. As long as you are getting the best possible creations, ones that are kindled by the fire of love and spread all over and about the planet to help raise our human mass consciousness and make our transition into 4th Dimensional reality one of (and this is from the Constitution of our great country) life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Just keep in mind that you are loved, special and important. Your path is of a divine Nature and when you become more aware of this and really feel it with your emotional self as chemicals and their particular reaction causing feelings of euphoria, confidence, joy. Tears of passion and Spiritual release come from your connection to the Soul that you are. Fear not, for you are of Immortal stock, made in God’s image with his/her power to use for Good (God) (Prime Creator). Jesus along with other prophets, Saints, Astrologers, Healers, Jesus especially is coded into your blood. That’s right. Right into your DNA structure of who and whom you are. He’s us Jesus. His DNA is mingled right in with yours. You were meant to have 12 strands coinciding with the twelve dimensions that it connects you to.

Its brutal, in-your-face action will make you cringe, while the creepy atmosphere will have your heart fluttering as you wonder what's around that next corner. Even the hardened veterans of the world's best horror games will find this to be a fine addition to their collection. It may lack in lasting appeal, but that's not a quality that people are looking for in horror games anyway. They want to be scared and to be able to fight back in a satisfying fashion, and in that respect, Monolith has certainly delivered with the PC version of Condemned. A big addition to batting csses with fielding. Now, I'll admit, players were a bit too agile in other previous games - running at full speed and changing directions completely is pretty unrealistic. 2K6 takes this entirely too far, however - if you even think about breaking the wrong way on a fly ball, it'll drop in for a hit. Turning when running at a ball is also near impossible for the player. A physics system needs to take this into account and have the speed be a factor - breaking the wrong way on a fly ball shouldn't be the absolute death sentence that it is now. The graphics in 2K6 are good. The animations flow smoothly and player faces (well, at least the majority of them) look realistic. There are some glitches that were introduced with the recent patch, though - I've seen small issues with lines flashing across the screen and with my pitcher's jersey number getting garbled as the camera pans down (yes, I made sure my 360 wasn't overheating). The issues, however, are small and don't cause any other problems. The sound is also well done. You can select a variety of songs to play in your home stadium on a plethora of occasions. Also a neat touch are the sounds made when the ball comes off your bat - a 529 foot home run actually sounds like it. Barely dinking the ball over the first baseman's head will also sound like it should. The game's presentation is also top-notch. The announcers do an excellent job of calling the game even though there are some issues with the stats they talk about from the previous year. While they will repeat on occasion, it isn't that much of an issue - all game announcers have a tendency to repeat. The replays are nice, too - at least they are when they work. There currently appears to be a bug that keeps replays from properly showing and you instead just see a still picture until you hit the A button. Hopefully, the issue gets fixed soon. Overall, MLB 2K6 is a worthy replacement to the beloved MVP MLB franchise. While there are some occasional hiccups and glitches and the fielding is off, these are all issues that can be ironed out over the next year - the game is still pretty fun to play. Provided a patch is released to fix the glitches and the other issues are taken care of before next year's edition, the new version has a chance to be the best ever. I thought about starting this review with a study of what Tomb Raider steals from other movies and games, where the series has innovated, what games have ripped off Tomb Raider, and how the series has progressed in the last ten years. But let's face it; since about the second Tomb Raider game, the series has just plain sucked. With some key personnel back on board, the guys at Crystal Dynamics and Eidos have put together Tomb Raider Legend, a game that's much more true to what made the series actually attractive in the first place. Of course Lara Croft is back as the well-endowed, yet athletic protagonist, and this time she's going to delve into a mystery that involves her parents, long lost friends, and plenty of ancient ruins to explore through. Even though Angelina Jolie did a pretty good job as Lara in the movies, the developers are striking out on their own yet again, making this Lara much like a more detailed version of the original from the first game (and this becomes more obvious once you play a level that's a flashback with the classic Lara outfit). Unlike past Tomb Raider games, Legend goes back to its roots with a healthy does of exploration and puzzle-solving. You'll still use your dual pistols, complete with infinite ammo, to take out plenty of bad guys throughout the game, but another important thing to mention is that the killing of various forms of wildlife is pretty much gone. There will be a leopard or an attack dog to kill every once in a while, but mostly you're going to be fighting various commandos that also want whatever Lara's in those ruins to find. Combat is much more stylish than in the earlier games, as Lara can still flip, dive, and roll while shooting, but now she's got even more acrobatic moves. Charge an enemy and slide at them, and you'll pop them up into the air, ragdoll-physics-style, and keep shooting them. Jump at an enemy and then jump again once your feet reach their face, and Lara will do a graceful, slow motion backflip off of the guy's head while shooting him simultaneously. We've seen this kind of stuff in games before, but the delivery here is very satisfying. And Lara isn't just limited to pistols; she can carry an extra weapon on her back, like an assault rifle, grenade launcher, or shotgun. These weapons have limited ammo, along with the very powerful grenades that she can carry. Lara's got plenty of moves she can employ even when her guns are safely in their holsters. When it comes to acrobatic moves, the revival of the Prince of Persia series of games seemed to pick up where classic Tomb Raider left off (and even this series borrowed plenty of platforming elements from the original Prince of Persia games from the late 80s and early 90s), and now Tomb Raider Legend has picked it up again. Lara moves gracefully as she hops, climbs, flips, and shimmies around. The animations are great and the situations Lara gets into can get intense, as there are a few scripted sequence, complete with a "tap this button right now or Lara gets crushed or falls to her death" element, which will keep you on your toes. Some Tomb Raider purists might scoff at these part-Dragon's Lair, part-Shenmue moments, but I think it's a good way to make sure that players are paying attention to the action at all times, even if it's during a cutscene. Mixed in with the platforming and action elements are some new sequences on a motorcycle, although the player will find quickly that while Lara can shoot from the bike, you really have to watch the path in front of you. Every bump against the wall or a rock costs you plenty of health, so watch the road! Well, in this case, watch the dirt path. These sequences are kind of fun but leave something to be desired, especially the very, very short motorcycle sequence in Tokyo. When it comes to challenge, most of Tomb Raider Legend's difficulty comes from the puzzles that are laid out in many of the ruins. Combat is usually pretty easy since everyone but Lara is a terrible shot and most of your enemies stand still while you're flying around the room, and the controls are pretty sharp and easy to get used to. That leaves actually figuring out what to do when the game presents a puzzle, and the first major one will test your logic skills right from the start. Sure, Lara has some crazy binoculars that can "scan" items like what we saw in Metroid Prime (although the function of this is less for backstory and more for identifying things you need to use to solve the puzzle), but the game still doesn't tell you how to solve anything. You'll have to figure them out for yourself. The addition of a grappling hook makes for some interesting gameplay in Legend. You'll need to use it to pull things towards you, smash open something important, actually pull yourself towards something else, or even swing from the ceiling like Indiana Jones on his whip. That last bit only happens in specific spots, though, so you can't just use it to go all Tarzan to escape an area. The Xbox 360 version of the game of course has excellent graphics, but the frame rate can get iffy at certain times. While the developers seem to have tried to make sure that there aren't any major frame rate issues that pop up in mid-jump or during combat, it's a little disconcerting having the game slow down significantly just because you decided to swing the camera around a bit. The locales you'll be visiting in Legend range from the Ghana rain forests to Bolivia, to Kazakhstan and Tokyo, and even Peru. The developers have done a great job mixing up the pacing, sending you back into ruins just before you get tired of shimmying around the edge on a Tokyo skyscraper (and vice versa). While Lara's adventure this time around is pretty short, the exploration elements, great visuals that the Xbox 360 can produce, and even the surprisingly interesting story all come together to make a pretty solid game anyway. Those who aren't big on finding hidden bonus items or replaying levels in a "time attack" mode might find that the price is too high to pay for six to eight hours of gameplay, but there's plenty here to satisfy both those who like to rent or buy their games. Far Cry Instincts was a bit of a surprise hit when it was released last year for the Xbox. PC gamers loved the original title for its wonderful, bright graphics and interesting open-ended style of action, but console gamers had no idea what a Far Cry actually was and the PC veterans were pretty sure that the massive size and scope of Far Cry's tropical island settings would be too much for the Xbox. Well, it turns out that console gamers embraced Instincts for what it was; sure, it didn't look quite as good on a regular TV and the gameplay wound up being a little more limited than the PC version, but there were no Trigens (the super-annoying enemies from the last half of the PC version) and the recreation of the whole plot made for an almost all-new game. Now, Ubisoft is bringing Far Cry to the Xbox 360 with an extended version. Not only is there new content, but they've tacked on another subtitle: this is Far Cry Instincts: Predator. It's a stupid name, but Predator packs a lot of value in and winds up being quite a bit more than a brainless higher-resolution X360 port. What you'll get with
