King Krule -the primary creative vessel for 17-year-old south east London-based singer/producer/songwriter Archy Marshall - has released just a smattering of tracks since he emerged under the moniker of Zoo Kid in 2010. Since then he has netted himself a legion of admirers with his tracks which offer twinkling slivers of world weary angst, and regret. Most recently he unveiled a stunning double A-side single through the Rinse imprint, 'Rock Bottom' and 'Octopus', revealing alternate, but no less draw-dropping sides of the project's coin. 2013 will be the year of King Krule.

On the back of a string of critically acclaimed singles, London based pop sensation Ruby Goe’s unique musical sensibilities have been pushed to the fore throughout 2012, making waves in the UK and the US. The recent single “Sq1” is a prime example – an anthemic, twisted alt pop gem shot through with Goe’s trademark idiosyncrasies, and aligns Ruby perfectly as a star contender in the new year. It is clear that Ruby has picked up the offbeat pop baton from the likes of Robyn, Lykke Li and Santigold and sprinted off into the distance with it.

With his ability to imbue a shiny pop hook with an elegiac air of melancholia and nostalgia, the music of Night Works is instantly addictive yet indelibly moving, beautiful vocals offset with a keen eye for the off-beat, both sonically and visually.
New York rapper Mykki Blanco is an all-encompassing metropolitan artiste—multi-faceted and multi-talented (poet, rapper, actor and author are just some of her varying vocations). Collaborating with producers such as Brenmar, Matrixxman and Sinden on her debut mixtape Cosmic Angel: The Illuminati Prince/ss, and with the ability to rap hyperactive, snappy and cutting lines, Mykki Blanco will be sure she stays on top of the food chain next year.

Signing to Tri Angle – the renowned incubator of all that is dark and innovative in electronica – Evian Christ released a free mixtape, “Kings and Them”. 2013 sees the long awaited release of his debut album proper and it will undoubtedly be well worth the wait.
