One Love's new release, Mantras and Incantations Vol 1, November 10, 2017.
"Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo"
This mantra comes to us from the Sikh and Kundalini yoga tradition, and is also known as the Adi Mantra. One translation is "I bow to the All-That-Is, I bow to the Divine Wisdom inside myself". This is the first mantra we do in Kundalini yoga practice and is a good mantra to use for safety, to ensure a safe journey.
This mantra connects us with gurus and teachers throughout the ages and to the guru living deep inside ourselves. If we can learn to connect to all the incredible wisdom living deep inside ourselves, we can live in harmony with ourselves and the universe.
Today, there is so much separating us from our true inner wisdom- so much past karma, distractions, lies, and human and personal habit. To find our inner guru requires patience and much diligent work. This is represented in our performance of this mantra which is inspired by African-American plantation work songs and early blues. Featuring Miriam Ma's bluesy vocals, G-Creature's Delta blues guitar, claps, and chorus, this is a soulful way to help us dig deep to find our inner wisdom.
